Overview
We're looking for an experienced AWS Solution Architect to join a leading digital consultancy working on large-scale cloud transformation projects across the public sector and defence industries. This is a high-impact role where you'll work closely with clients to define cloud adoption strategies, design AWS-native architectures, and guide complex migration programmes.
You'll play a key part in shaping the cloud journey for clients that make a tangible impact on the UK's national security and critical infrastructure.
Responsibilities
As an AWS Solution Architect, you will: Lead on technical design and migration enablement projects.
Define and document AWS architectures (baseline, target, roadmaps, patterns, standards, and reference architectures).
Work with development teams to ensure common standards and re-usable migration patterns.
Endorse and maintain infrastructure-as-code approaches for automated, repeatable deployments.
Conduct architectural reviews and provide assurance on AWS solutions.
Act as an escalation point for engineering teams, supporting troubleshooting and incident resolution.
Drive the adoption of automation and best practices across the platform.
Support, mentor and coach engineering teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
Skills & Experience
We're looking for someone with: Strong experience in AWS architecture and cloud migration, ideally in large, multi-account environments.
Expertise in designing and implementing cloud reference architectures and patterns .
Solid understanding of AWS security services, networking, and DevOps practices .
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and cloud-native automation tools.
Strong communication skills, able to engage with both technical teams and senior stakeholders.
Knowledge of working in Agile delivery environments .
Experience mentoring junior engineers and driving collaboration across teams.
