Job Title: Product Safety Engineer
Location: Warton

Salary: £47,683 dependent on skills and experience
What you’ll be doing:
1. You will support the resolution of safety-related issues on Typhoon Radar.
2. This role will require you to review safety assessments and evidence in clearance documentation from radar suppliers in support of clearance activities.
3. Ensure you assess supplier deviations related to safety.
4. You will generate safety arguments to maintain the safety of the aircraft.
5. Address certification queries or concerns raised both internally and by Eurofighter and NETMA nations.
6. You will be involved in in-service risk assessments and in-service instructions relating to the radar to maintain the continued airworthiness of the in-service aircraft fleet.
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
* Experience in product safety engineering (fault tree analysis, safety cases, hazard analysis).
* A degree in a STEM subject or relevant experience (preferably with safety or systems engineering focus).
* Knowledge of systems engineering.
Desirable:
* Experience of Typhoon / aircraft safety.
* Experience of working with suppliers.

The Radar EDR team:
The Radar Safety Team is part of the broader EDR (Engineering Development & Radar) team, comprising 3 to 5 engineers. The team ensures radar products are safe to operate on the Typhoon platform—both at initial delivery and throughout the product’s in-service lifecycle. As a team member, you'll work alongside experienced professionals supporting your transition into the role.
You’ll have access to safety training and opportunities to deepen your knowledge of the Typhoon platform and radar systems. The role involves cross-functional collaboration to ensure integration and alignment across departments, with regular interactions with external suppliers and partners.
