Cladding Remediation & Retrofit
Crawley | Hybrid working (2 days WFH)
An established architectural practice is seeking a Senior Architect or Senior Architectural Technologist to join its growing technical team, specialising in cladding remediation and retrofit projects across the residential and mixed-use sectors.
This is a hands‑on technical role, suited to a confident Revit user with strong regulatory knowledge and experience working within the current Building Safety framework. You'll play a key role in delivering technically robust design packages while coordinating consultants and supporting compliance through the Gateway process.
The Role
* Lead and deliver technical design packages for cladding remediation and retrofit schemes
* Produce and coordinate detailed Revit models, drawings, and specifications
* Ensure compliance with the Building Safety Act 2022 and associated legislation
* Support and, where required, undertake BRPD (Building Regulations Principal Designer) duties
* Prepare and contribute to Gateway 1, 2 & 3 submissions
* Coordinate consultant and specialist subcontractor design information
* Review contractor proposals, technical details, and material selections
* Identify and manage technical and regulatory risks
* Provide technical guidance and support to junior team members
* Liaise with clients, contractors, and statutory authorities
Skills & Experience
* Qualified Architect or Architectural Technologist
* Strong technical detailing and construction knowledge
* Good working knowledge of the Building Safety Act 2022
* Familiarity with the Gateway process
* Understanding of BRPD responsibilities and design risk management
* Experience working within multi-disciplinary teams
* Strong communication and coordination skills
* Experience working on Higher‑Risk Buildings
* Previous involvement in BRPD roles or support functions
* Knowledge of fire safety strategies, façade systems, and compliance routes
* Immediate or short‑notice availability
