We’re recruiting for an Operations Manager to join our Container Division where you’ll play a key role in delivering exceptional service, executing the operational plan to maximise productivity and efficiency, whilst maintaining a safe working environment.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead and empower teams across yard, quay, rail, and haulage operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and customer-focused delivery. The Operations Manager will work closely with other shift managers and senior leaders to drive performance and continuous improvement, using the Plan, Do, Review methodology.

The successful candidate will lead by example with a visible presence across operational areas, supporting and guiding teams to meet service levels, and contribute to operational projects and continuous improvement initiatives with evidence-based insights.

This is a shift-based role, following a 24-hour shift pattern of 2 Days, 2 Nights and 4 off.

The Recruitment Process - What is involved?

Our recruitment process involves the redaction of each candidate’s identifiable information, leaving their skills, experience and answers to the competency questions to be assessed.

1. Complete your online application on our website by 14th September. Please read the information about the role carefully and provide as much relevant information about yourself as possible and the transferable skills in relation to the role.
2. Applications will be redacted removing any personal or identifiable data prior to being sent over to the hiring managers.
3. Interviews will be taking place week commencing 29th September. This will involve a Scenario based task and a competency-based interview.
4. After the interviews we will be in touch as soon as possible to let you know if you have been successful—this should be by 10th October.
