Production Supervisor (2nd Shift)Salary: £40-50k (DOE)Location: ReadingHours: 2:30pm 11:00pmJob Type: PermAbout the Production SupervisorWe are seeking an experienced and driven Production Supervisor to lead a manufacturing team on the 2nd shift within a fast-paced engineering environment. You will be responsible for overseeing production activities, ensuring safety, quality, and performance targets are consistently achieved.This role is key to maintaining operational efficiency, driving continuous improvement, and developing a high-performing team. Its an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on leadership, problem-solving, and delivering results in a dynamic production setting.Key Responsibilities of the Production SupervisorLead, support, and develop a team of production staff, including performance management and trainingPlan and allocate work, ensuring smooth workflow and effective shift handoversEnsure all production output meets quality, safety, and delivery targetsMonitor KPIs and identify areas for improvement, implementing corrective actions where requiredEnsure strict adherence to health & safety standards across the shiftCollaborate with engineering, quality, logistics, and operations teams to resolve issues and improve processesDrive continuous improvement initiatives across production operationsManage shift communication and act as the key link between shopfloor and managementEvaluate production processes in line with industry and quality standards (e.g.
ISOEssential Experience & Skills of the Production SupervisorMinimum 5 years experience in a supervisory or leadership role within manufacturingStrong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentationExperience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologiesProven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop teamsExperience using ERP/MRP systems, BOMs, and inventory control processesStrong communication, organisation, and problem-solving skillsProficient in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook)Why Apply for the Production Supervisor?This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of a key production function within a growing engineering environment.
