An exciting opportunity has arisen for a compassionate and caring and experienced neonatal nurse to join our well established and friendly neonatal multidisciplinary team.
We are looking to recruit a highly motivated and experienced, forward thinking senior clinical nurse to join our Neonatal team providing care and support to babies requiring all levels of care and their families from admission to discharge home from the neonatal unit. The post holder will form part of the Neonatal team and will work closely with the Doctors, Community Nurses and allied health professionals within the existing team.
Main duties of the job
The Neonatal Unit at Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust consists of 17 cots which include 2 intensive care, 4 high dependency and 11 special care cots. We are based at Stoke Mandeville Hospital and are looking for an experienced neonatal nurse to join our dynamic team.
We have a strong commitment to professional development and service improvement, have commissioned links with several local Universities and can offer an accelerated career pathway for suitable candidates. Our Practice Development Nurse will support you in the ongoing development of your skills and knowledge.
The post holder will be expected to work internal rotation covering day shifts including some weekends.
The aim of this post is to utilise and further develop specialist skills in order to provide the highest standard of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of individualised patient care. Actively participate in and contribute to the management of the Neonatal team communicating effectively with the neonate's family/carers, the multidisciplinary team, other departments within the Trust and pertinent agencies outside the organisation including complex social cases.

Essential criteria
10. RN adult or child
11. Neonatal Intensive Care and High Dependency Course or equivalent
12. Neonatal Advanced Life Support course
Desirable criteria
13. evidence of change management skills
Experience

14. significant and relevant experience at band 6 level in a neonatal unit
15. evidence of management or leadership course
16. level 3 safeguarding of adults and children
17. A knowledge of professional procedures and policies
18. Knowledge of clinical governance and staff development
19. computer literate
