About the Role
Connex Education is currently recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant to work full-time in a welcoming mainstream primary school in Wednesbury (WS10). This role involves providing tailored, one-to-one support for a pupil with complex needs, helping them to access learning, develop independence, and thrive within the classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Provide consistent 1:1 support for a pupil with complex special educational needs
2. Implement personalised learning strategies in line with the pupil’s EHCP (if applicable)
3. Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals
4. Support the pupil’s academic, social, and emotional development
5. Use a calm, patient, and nurturing approach to manage behaviour and engagement
6. Adapt resources and activities to meet individual needs
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
7. Experience supporting children with SEN, particularly those with complex needs
8. A strong understanding of inclusive education practices
9. Excellent communication and teamwork skills
10. Patience, resilience, and a proactive attitude
11. Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant) are desirable but not essential
