My client is seeking an experienced and skilled Founding Product Designer to join their pioneering Product department. They are on a mission to disrupt their market with cutting-edge tech and rich datasets. This role focuses on creating user-centric designs for digital products, balancing high-fidelity UI/UX with business goals and brand standards.
As the first design hire, the Founding Product Designer will oversee the entire product lifecycle, from research and ideation to testing and final collaboration with developers, C-suite, and wider team.
Location: London (Hybrid)
Salary: up to £130K
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct user and market research to understand the needs of construction and engineering professionals.
* Rethink user experiences from first principles and develop strategies to make complex, data-rich platforms feel simple.
* Own the end-to-end design of core surfaces, including flow builders, execution interfaces, and analytics.
* Design for an AI-first product, handling generated content, streaming responses, and human-in-the-loop review patterns.
* Work directly with the CEO, CTO, and engineering teams to refine designs using modern frontend component systems like Tailwind CSS and Radix.
Ideal Candidate:
* Has significant experience simplifying complex, multi-step UX, such as data-rich editors.
* Possesses a strong understanding of browser-aware design thinking (CSS Grid, Flexbox) and experience with AI-generated interfaces.
* Has a keen eye for detail and the ability to reduce complex screens with 15+ controls down to 5 without losing capability.
* Demonstrates excellent communication skills and an entrepreneurial mindset to thrive in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment.
