Herefordshire and Worcestershire Talking Therapies are one of the leading Talking Therapies services for Relational Therapies in the country. We provide therapy across all NICE concordant Relational Therapies and offer supervision specific to each modality. We are currently expanding our workforce. We have a fully funded training opportunity provided by NHS England across the service working Monday to Friday 37.5 hours per week. Upon successful completion of the course, you will obtain a NICE approved Talking Therapies qualification and move into a permanent Band 7 post as a PCE CfD (Person Centred Experiential Counselling for Depression) High Intensity Therapist. We provide you with resources for continual professional development, and a wide range of wellbeing and support.

Responsibilities
A typical week will involve working autonomously and as part of a team. You will be learning through study and in practice, developing skills and competence. Under supervision you will work collaboratively with patients in your care to assess and provide psychological interventions, supporting individuals with their mental health. You will be expected to maintain outcomes in line with service targets.
You will maintain clear and accurate clinical records and will be supported to embed learning and reflect on your practice via regular clinical supervision, recording clinical sessions for academic purposes. You will be involved in various aspects of clinical practice, for example, undertaking patient assessments, facilitating groups, and offering therapy in the modality you are training in. You will be actively expected to participate in other aspects of the service to include attending meetings, clinical skills sessions, and other areas of interest.

Qualifications and experience
Essential
* A minimum two-year post-graduate (or equivalent) qualification in Psychotherapeutic Counselling, Psychotherapy, Counselling, or Counselling Psychology, comprising no less than 450 hours programme contact AND no less than 100 hours supervised counselling or psychotherapy practice
* Minimum of 350 hours supervised counselling or psychotherapy practice
* Demonstrable experience of working within mental health services
* Experience of conducting accurate and detailed clinical assessments and management of risk
Desirable
* More than 450 hours supervised counselling or psychotherapy practice
* Demonstrable experience of working in a service with patients who have mild/moderate mental health problems
* Worked within a service whereby agreed targets are in place demonstrating clinical outcomes
* Experience of working within a stepped care service for anxiety and depression
Additional criteria
* Able to commit to 100% attendance of appropriate training course.
* Able to complete academic components of the course
* Able to meet the travel requirements of the role.
Skills & abilities
* Computer literate and able to articulate clear and concise clinical notes.
* Ability to construct clear reports and letters to referrers.
* Ability to meet agreed/ specified service targets.
* Ability to convert theory to practice.
Knowledge
* Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of at least one counselling, psychotherapy or psychotherapeutic model
* Demonstrates an understanding of anxiety and depression and how it may present in primary care
* Demonstrates an understanding for the need to use evidence based psychological therapies and how it relates to this post
