PROJECT MANAGER
Carbon60 is looking to recruit an experienced Project Manager to support technical M&E investigations, remediation, and closeout activities across complex facilities in Oxfordshire.
ROLE: Project Manager - M&E / Building Services
PAY RATE: Negotiable
CONTRACT TYPE: May - September | 40 hours per week
LOCATION: Oxfordshire, UK
THE ROLE:
The successful candidate will act as a technical M&E Project Manager focused on investigating, validating, and resolving legacy system issues across complex facilities.
The role requires a hands-on and technically confident individual who can coordinate between operations teams, clients, and specialist subcontractors to drive investigations and remedial actions through to completion.
The Project Manager will be site-based 5 days per week, working proactively to support client needs while managing highly varied technical and operational challenges across complex M&E systems.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conduct technical investigations across systems including fire alarms, electrical infrastructure, compressors, freezers, water, and air systems
Review commissioning records, O&M manuals, test results, and drawings to identify gaps and corrective actions
Lead root-cause analysis activities and present findings and recommendations to stakeholders
Coordinate recommissioning, testing, repairs, and remedial works with subcontractors and specialists
Act as the key point of contact between client, operations teams, and contractors
Support project controls including scopes of work, risk management, SHEQ/CDM compliance, and progress reporting
Ensure all system documentation, asset data, and handover information is accurate and complete
Identify additional system issues and manage them through to resolution
Maintain strong stakeholder communication and contractor oversight throughout the project lifecycle
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Proven Project Management experience within M&E, FM, or Building Services environments
Strong technical understanding across mechanical, electrical, BMS, and life-safety systems
Background in commissioning, technical investigations, engineering closeout, or remedial projects
Excellent stakeholder management and coordination skills
Ability to work independently and proactively within a fast-paced environment
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving capability
Good understanding of CDM and SHEQ compliance
Basic DBS required
DESIRABLE:
Technical qualifications within Mechanical, Electrical, or Construction disciplines
Previous experience within pharmaceutical or highly regulated environments
