Knowledge of CDM regulations and key areas of construction would be beneficial Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) NEBOSH Environmental, IOSH Qualifications and Temporary Works Coordinator Certifications – desirable but not essential Exceptional commitment and interest in Health, Safety, Environment and Quality practices Strong organisational and people management skills, with the ability to coordinate tasks and support project delivery effectively Confident with a range of IT systems and software Self-motivated, proactive and a positive attitude Excellent team player with the ability to integrate and inspire others Willingness to undertake training and personal development Commitment to maintaining professional standards and continuous improvement Please note: this role requires an Enhanced DBS check (including the Children’s and Adults’ Barred List) and may include additional vetting in line with client requirements. Please be aware that the closing date for this role is Friday 20 February 2026 Job Description The purpose of the Assistant Health & Safety Advisor is to assist in providing an outstanding Health, Safety and Environmental focus throughout the Company, working alongside all departments to ensure all legislation, compliance and standards are strictly adhered to. The Assistant Health & Safety Advisor will work closely with the team and the Director to drive the companies’ health and safety strategies in line with the overall site objectives. Training towards becoming jointly accountable for the Health & Safety Department and the measurement, management and implementation of all relevant policies, procedures and compliances. Responsibilities Assisting the development, implementation and monitoring of the HS&E accreditations such as ISO9001, ISO14001 and ISO45001 across the company Assisting the development, implementation and monitoring of the HS&E strategy across all branches and operational sites Engaging across sites, implementing health and safety policies and procedures, and ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation Aid in providing exceptional support to our varied project teams on all HS&E issues Supporting the identification of possible operational risks or opportunities, and work with project teams to ensure an appropriate and effective response Keeping up to date with current Health and Safety legislation and best practice Reviewing the production of risk assessments and method statements and answering any health and safety related queries Advise on fire regulations, noise, and occupational health Liaise with external bodies in relation to health, safety and environmental issues Support the development of a strong Health and Safety focused culture across the Company and promote good safety behaviours. The development of briefing and communication strategies to ensure that the Health and Safety plan and important information is understood and operated by all employees and subcontractors Working closely with the Director to ensure the organisation's H&S strategy is implemented successfully Bringing new and creative thinking to the business whilst still maintaining exceptional H&S standards Supporting the conducting of training, toolbox talks, inductions and investigating incidents and accidents where required Undertaking audits and inspections of sites, identifying areas for improvement, and reporting on the findings. Able to comply with all GDPR regulations Any other duties as required by the Director and Board of Directors Undertake duties in line with business requirements.
