The Opportunity
We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Trainee Windscreen Technician. This role is designed with candidates with no prior experience to hand, to gain the practical skills and hands-on experience needed to become a comprehensive skilled automotive glazing professional, able to work on an extensive variety of different types of vehicles. This role offers direct pay progression as you master new skills.

Key Learning & Responsibilities
As a Trainee, you will learn the trade directly alongside our experienced technicians:
* Hands-on Vehicle Preparation: Gain practical experience in preparing vehicles for glass installation, including safely removing trims and cleaning bonding surfaces.
* Glass Handling & Fitting: Learn the correct techniques for preparing and handling delicate automotive glass for precise fitting.
* Installation Support: Directly assist experienced technicians during the professional installation and repair of windscreens and all other automotive glass.
* Workshop Operations: Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work environment, and assist with stock deliveries and inventory management.

* Physically fit and comfortable with hands-on, practical work.
* Strong willingness to learn, ask questions, and develop new, technical skills.
* Reliable, punctual, and able to integrate seamlessly into a team.
* A full UK driving licence is essential.

Hours of Work
Core Hours:- Monday to Friday – 8.30am – 5pm (closed on bank holidays)
'Out of Hours' work:- We offer an emergency call-out service for key customers that gets used occasionally. To provide this, all technicians are included in on-call rota to attend any emergency jobs outside of standard working hours. Extra payment is made to technicians for being on-call and further payments also, for attending any call-outs that do occur.

Initial Pay
Standard Wage (figures starting from):
Aged 21+:- From £25'600
Aged 18 – 20:- From £21'100
Under 18:- From £16'600
Overtime is paid at 'time and a half' (x1.5) for any routine time worked outside of the core hours. Technicians also receive extra pay for being on-call.
They also receive extra pay for attending any emergency call-outs that do occur.
Because of this, technicians will always earn more than their standard wage, as highlighted below:
Estimated Total Wage (based on minimum standard wage stated above):
Aged 21+:- £29'700+
Aged 18 – 20:- £24'700+
Under 18:- £20'000+
