We are seeking an inspiring and visionary Head of Building Futures to lead our community-based life skills programme and vocational activities for adults with learning disabilities. Joining us at a pivotal and exciting stage of our growth, you will drive forward our ambitious plans to develop and expand the educational and vocational outcomes of the programme, ensuring they are innovative, impactful, and person-centred.

We are looking for someone with proven experience in the field and a passion for empowering individuals to achieve their potential, who will combine strategic leadership with hands-on expertise, guiding a skilled team to deliver exceptional learning opportunities and real-world outcomes. This is a unique opportunity to build on their existing experience to shape the future of our programme and make a real lasting difference in the lives of the people we support.

You will be responsible for areas including:

1. Managing the overall delivery of a safe and high-quality programme and activities to maintain our excellent reputation.
2. Managing, developing, and deploying a team of staff and alumni volunteers to provide a high-quality service and ensure smooth and safe operation of all programmes.
3. Collaborating with the Managing Director and Assistant Building Futures Manager to develop and improve the current programme and seek new opportunities.
4. Overseeing health & safety and safeguarding through up-to-date risk assessments, support plans, and protocols, following community partners' guidelines.
5. Leading by example as a manager by being present on the programme, guiding staff and young people, and leading sessions when required.

Essential requirements include proven experience in leading and managing a team within the SEND/ASC sector, knowledge of health & safety and safeguarding risk assessments, excellent communication skills, enthusiasm, caring nature, confidence in delivering person-centred sessions, and willingness to provide hands-on support. Candidates should be proactive, committed to continuous improvement, and aged 18 or above with the right to work in the UK.

Location: Primarily based in our Guildford head office, with occasional work from our Woking satellite office, community activities, and departmental events.

Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours/week, Monday-Friday 9am-5:30pm, with occasional weekends and evenings for specific events.

Salary: £39,600 - £41,600 per annum

Annual Leave: 33 days including bank holidays.

Training: Fully paid training and development opportunities.

Closing date: 30th September; start around mid-October, subject to availability. Interviews on a rolling basis.

Applicants must be willing to provide references and undertake a DBS check, which will be paid for by halow. It is a criminal offence for barred individuals to apply for roles involving unsupervised work with adults at risk or children.
