Overview
As a Public Health Intelligence Analyst, you will analyse, evaluate and interpret data from a range of sources to inform public health programmes, statutory reports and publications. You will support the Director of Public Health Annual Report and other health needs and health impact assessments.
You will produce data reports to monitor progress on addressing the social determinants of health and support the development of a population health dashboard and other health intelligence products, including indicator data packs for partnership programmes.
The role requires a comprehensive understanding of health data, socioeconomic determinants of health, life course approaches and relevant data sources to provide health intelligence advice to the Public Health Directorate and partner agencies, including Hywel Dda University Health Board.
You will apply a range of statistical techniques to analyse data from multiple sources, using MS Office and other required software, compile statistical reports and communicate findings to diverse audiences. You will research, analyse, review and publish health information and lead public health work such as needs assessments, health equity audits, health impact assessments and analysis of health service utilisation to examine trends and improvements over time.
You will work strategically with health system partners to identify and meet population health needs, collaborating with professionals across directorates and organisations and advising senior decision makers in a political setting.

Qualifications and skills
* Understanding of health data, socioeconomic determinants of health and life course approaches.
* Experience with NHS/public health environments is advantageous.
* Proficiency in MS Office and other data analysis/presentation software.
* Ability to research, analyse, review and publish health information.
* Excellent organisational and communication skills; ability to work under pressure.
* Ability to collaborate with professionals across directorates and organisations.
* Welsh language ability is desirable; Welsh and/or English speakers are welcome.
