About The Role
1. Location: Nash Rd, Trafford Park, Stretford, Manchester M17 1SX
This role will mainly be based at the Nash Road Hub in Trafford Park, but may be required to work from other Greater Manchester locations.
2. Salary: £28,882 per annum (pro-rated for 6 months)
3. Working: 37.5 hours per week
What will I be doing?
4. Work towards achieving the sales targets for the re-use web sales.
5. Generate and upload suitable photographic images to support the sales of approved items
6. Serve and positively interact with customers and provide sales advice to ensure repeat custom
7. Operate the till system. Reconcile card receipts at the beginning and end of each shift
8. Process returns and refunds
9. Ensure goods are sold at an appropriate value
10. Ensure any rejected items are disposed of appropriately
11. Maintain the security of the Hub Click and Collect premises, including the sales, storage, photography and customer areas and property including stock
12. Ensure the highest standards of housekeeping and daily controls are maintained as standard practice
13. Encourage and promote the values of the operation and promote the charitable nature of the re-use scheme within Greater Manchester
14. Recruitment, training, management and support of volunteers
15. Motivate, organise and encourage teamwork within the workplace to ensure productivity targets are met or exceeded
16. Any other duties required to achieve the smooth and profitable running of the operation
17. Work closely with the re-use hub management, Repair Pod operatives and site staff to ensure sufficient levels of stock are maintained to achieve sales targets, whilst educating what items are saleable and in demand
18. Provide information as required to the re-use hub manager to ensure regular publicity via social media
19. Ensure adequate cover to maximise trading hours
20. Assure items are received and stored according to Health & Safety risk protocol
21. Maintain accurate and up-to-date information on all aspects of trading activity as required for regular reporting to the re-use hub manager and other relevant agencies in line with GDPR legislation
22. Ability to follow procedures relating to sale of goods and dealing with returned products
23. Competency to use a variety of selling techniques
24. Ability to help match products to customer needs
25. Talent to determine reusable items from waste
26. An eye for quality items and to price up second-hand goods using all available tools
27. Ability to operate a forklift truck for material movement and storage
28. Manual handling capability
29. Ability to operate a till system
30. Mathematical skills to reconcile sales / card receipts
31. Competency to support volunteers to ensure that the service provided is of a high quality

50. Awareness of how to take responsible decisions to minimise negative effects on the environment in all work activities
What are the requirements?
51. A flexible attitude to work, shift-work, weekend work and alternate locations when necessary
52. Lone working will be necessary within the click and collect operation until volunteers are available
53. Close working relationship with the Reuse Hub site staff
54. Equivalent of grade b or above in GCSE Maths & English Language
