TV21325 - Learning Support Assistant at WMJobs. Location: St James Academy. Hours: 28.75 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 8.45am – 3.15pm with 45 minutes for lunch). Start date: as soon as possible. Actual salary: £16,830 - £18,224 (pro-rata to hours worked). Grade G4 £25,183 - £27,269 (pro-rata to hours worked).

Purpose of the job: To work under the instruction and guidance of the teacher/SENDCo to support a child in Reception class with an EHC plan (EHCP).
Responsibilities
* Plan, resource and deliver ability-appropriate learning activities and experiences.
* Complete observations and assessments of the pupil’s progress and development.
* Liaise with school staff, parents and external agencies on a regular basis.
Essential qualifications and skills
* At least NVQ Level 2 in teaching assistance or equivalent with an Ofsted-recognised EYFS qualification.
* Good personal literacy and numeracy skills (GCSE English and mathematics or equivalent).
* Experience of supporting and working with pupils who have SEND.
Desirable qualifications and experience
* Experience of supporting children with social and emotional difficulties.
* Experience with speech and language programmes to support children with communication needs.
