Working hours Monday – Friday

To deliver a First Contact Practitioner service. To work closely with GPs, Orthopaedic Consultants and the Multidisciplinary team to ensure continuing development of referral protocols in line with agreed pathways.

Within the clinical capacity of the role, the post-holder will support orthopaedic triage work and musculoskeletal Physiotherapy service delivery combined with FCP work as agreed with their line manager.

The post holder will provide advanced theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of musculoskelatal Physiotherapy by supporting the training and development of Physiotherapy staff across the operational unit.

To assist the Physiotherapy team leads with local leadership of Physiotherapy staff. To take the lead with colleagues in the evaluation of initiatives aimed at optimising access to and the quality of Physiotherapy services.

The post holder will undertake research and clinical audit to specifically evaluate models of care and implement best practice.

This is a Band 7 role but consideration will be given to applicants working at Band 6 level who are prepared to undertake the training and development required to work at Band 7.

Under Annex 21 arrangements for up to 2 years.

1–2 years from completion: 70% of qualified rate

Less than 1 year from completion: 75% of qualified rate

(Pay will never fall below the Scottish Living Wage.)

Pay for internal (existing) staff - Existing staff moving into trainee roles will have earnings protected until training ends (unless trainee pay exceeds this).

Pay protection is NOT applicable to externally appointed candidates
