Rapid Response is a new service based on the success of the Blue Light Triage team, which successfully collaborated with police and ambulance colleagues to meet the needs of individuals in mental health crises. This service primarily operates in their own homes, avoiding conveyance to A&E and the use of S136 outside operational hours.
We are seeking community support workers to be based in Eastbourne, Crawley, Brighton, or Worthing. The role involves supporting mental health professionals in their duties, including carrying out person-centred assessments and developing care plans during mental health crises, which may occur via telephone, virtually, or 'at scene'.

* Experience in mental health services or care settings and a willingness to enhance your skills
* Knowledge of factors impacting safety and service user experience
* Understanding of safety considerations for emergency service colleagues
Shifts are long days and evenings over 7 days, with generous enhancements attached.
Main Duties
The Rapid Response team operates daily between midday and midnight, with staff working long day shifts. The team collaborates with Blue Light Line, providing a single access point for paramedics and police, offering information and clinical advice to optimize patient outcomes and reduce conveyance to A&E and S136 use.
The support worker's role includes driving mental health professionals to locations, providing basic first aid if needed, supporting carers at the scene, and assisting with administrative tasks before and after interventions.

* Drive the mental health vehicle to crisis locations
* Communicate confidently with Police and Paramedics, recording messages accurately
* Support carers and loved ones at the scene
