The Security Office is responsible for protecting the Parliament building, passholders and visitors and preventing disruptions to Parliamentary proceedings.We provide a visible and reassuring presence throughout the building 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The Office also provides security advice to Members and their staff. To be successful you will be experienced in providing a high level of customer service within a public facing role. Youll be resilient and confident, used to dealing with a diverse range of people, often under challenging or difficult circumstances. Youll have an awareness of the importance of creating positive impressions of the Parliament and the impact this has on the public perception of the organisation. Youll be alert and observant, have excellent communication skills and be a strong team player. Youll also be able to meet the demands of shift working, including working regular weekends and nights. The completion of regular physical fitness assessments is a requirement for the role to ensure alarms and incidents are responded to quickly and efficiently.
