Position
MSK Specialist Podiatrist based at Ayrshire Central Hospital. This is a permanent position, 36 hours per week.
Hours and Working Week
From 1 April 2026, the working week for NHS Agenda for Change staff in Scotland will be reduced. Full‑time hours will reduce from 37 to 36 hours (pro rata for part‑time staff) without loss of earnings.
UK Driving Licence
A UK driving licence is essential for this role.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the development of Podiatry MSK services across our health and social care services.
* Provide care within fields of rheumatology, orthopaedics, paediatrics and MSK rehabilitation.
* Contribute to patient self‑management and rehabilitation programmes.
* Participate in training programmes for other health care professionals and support staff development.
* Lead service improvement initiatives using quality improvement approaches.
Knowledge, Training and Experience Required
* HCPC registration.
* B.Sc. in Podiatry.
* Evidence of effective management of a large, complex caseload with ability to diagnose and determine individual clinical needs.
* Demonstrated ability to be an autonomous practitioner.
* Experience in prescription of orthoses (off‑the‑shelf & bespoke).
* Evidence of IT skills and e‑systems usage.
