The role
As a Driver, you’ll be responsible for providing essential transport services that support the RSME contract. From moving personnel and equipment to ensuring vehicle safety and compliance, your role will be vital in keeping operations running smoothly and efficiently.
This is a hands-on position where your skills will directly contribute to national defence training. You’ll work with a variety of military and civilian vehicles, gaining valuable experience and making a meaningful impact every day.
Day-to-day you’ll be:
1. Driving eligible personnel and equipment to and from training exercises or military duties
2. Operating a range of vehicles including PSV and LGV fleet
3. Completing vehicle checks before, during, and after use
4. Supporting departmental admin tasks and delivering stores across site
5. Travelling up to 1.5 hours from site and performing manual tasks such as lifting and using tools
The role is based onsite at RSME Minley, and the set working times are Monday to Thursday, 08:00–16:30 and Friday, 08:00–16:00, totalling 37 hours per week. Overtime may be available, and flexibility in start times may be required.
Essential experience of the Driver:
6. Practical experience maintaining roadworthiness of vehicles
7. Strong understanding of driver’s hours regulations (JSP Vol 5 or EU regulations)
8. Experience in load restraint and load safety
Qualifications for the Driver:
9. Full UK Driving Licence with minimum Category C
10. Driver CPC and Tachograph card
11. Any necessary training or qualifications will be fully funded by Babcock

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
