Learning Support Assistant
Location: Harlow Pay Rate: GBP90 : GBP110 per day

We are currently recruiting for a specialist SEN school in Harlow that needs more than just a classroom assistant:they need a consistent, resilient, and empathetic mentor.
This is a hands:on role working with students who face significant challenges, including Autism (ASC), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), and complex behavioural needs. If you are an experienced support worker or Teaching Assistant looking for a role where your patience and skills directly translate into a childs quality of life, we want to hear from you.
The Role: Why You Matter
In this role, you arent just watching a class; you are actively facilitating learning and emotional regulation.
* Be the Anchor: You will provide 1:1 or small group support, helping students stay on task and navigate their visual schedules.
* Emotional Regulation: You will act as a co:regulator, using de:escalation strategies and therapeutic interventions (as per IEPs/EHCPs) to manage behaviour and anxiety.
* Holistic Care: You will assist with personal care (hygiene, feeding, mobility) with dignity and respect, ensuring the student is comfortable and ready to learn.
* Team Collaboration: You will work closely with teachers and therapists to adapt resources and track progress.
Who We Are Looking For
* Experience is Key: Previous experience supporting children or young people with complex SEN is non:negotiable.
* Resilience: You must be non:judgemental, adaptable, and able to build a rapport with students who may have limited verbal communication.
* Professionalism: You are organised, observant, and capable of recording accurate data on student progress.
* Compliance: You must have an active Enhanced DBS on the update service (or be willing immediately).
