Job Description:

Main duties and responsibilities

DMU London is part of the University’s ambitious growth agenda and represents an exciting new chapter in the development of De Montfort University. As a specialist postgraduate campus, DMU London is being shaped as a centre for teaching excellence, bringing together disciplines and subjects with a strong focus on sustainability, digital innovation and employability. It offers students an outstanding opportunity to study in one of the world’s most dynamic and globally connected cities, within a supportive and career-focused environment.

Role

We are seeking a Senior Teaching Fellow in Cyber Security to join DMU London at a key stage in its growth. This role involves delivering high-quality, industry-informed postgraduate teaching in Cyber Security and related areas, including the applied use of AI, while creating engaging, practice-based learning experiences. This is a strong opportunity to join a growing London campus and support a postgraduate offer focused on responsible innovation, professional relevance, and student success.

Key responsibilities

Delivering postgraduate teaching in Cyber Security and related areas, including applied AI, while acting as Module Leader and contributing to the wider portfolio. Designing innovative, industry-informed teaching and assessment, supporting programme development, and providing academic leadership, mentoring, and line management. Engaging with industry partners to enhance relevance, and supporting recruitment, marketing, and student engagement aligned with DMU London’s growth.

Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a motivated and collaborative academic or industry professional with strong expertise in Cyber Security and a genuine commitment to high-quality teaching.

The successful candidate will bring the ability to combine subject knowledge with strong teaching practice, creating learning experiences that are engaging, applied and responsive to the needs of a diverse postgraduate student body. You will be comfortable working across teaching, curriculum development and wider academic responsibilities, and will be able to contribute positively to a collegial and ambitious academic team.

Personal Qualities

An organised, proactive, and solution-focused individual who works effectively both independently and in teams, managing priorities and meeting deadlines. Demonstrates flexibility, a willingness to support wider role needs, and a strong commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion, alongside ongoing professional development and continuous improvement of practice.
