The role We seek an ambitious Chief Operating Officer with strong commercial and charity experience, who is adept in building and nurturing strong infrastructure to enable teams across Stonewall to deliver great work. You will be responsible for leading our Corporate Services, including, Finance, People, Data, IT and Projects. This is a crucial strategic and senior operational role, fostering a strong culture of operational excellence, robust planning and accountability supported by a commitment to investment in our people through coaching, training, and modelling best practice. You will lead our core internal teams that enable us to deliver on our mission and strategic objectives. As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, you will work closely with the CEO and Trustees to bring about meaningful evolution and impactful change, and will be the lead officer for the Finance, Audit Risk and Compliance Committee and the Remuneration Committee. About you We seek a highly experienced finance and operations lead who is fully qualified accountant (ICAEW, CIMA or ACCA or equivalent), with significant post-qualification experience at a senior level. You will have a strong commercial mindset and a proven track record in delivering robust and pragmatic infrastructures across the full range of Corporate Services. Alongside demonstrable experience in a role of similar complexity, we need someone highly attuned to developing and sustaining inclusive and high-performing professional organisational cultures. You will be naturally experienced in balancing strategic development, with day-to-day operational demands. Monitoring cashflow and reserves will be an important skill to bring, as will a business partnering approach. You will be naturally empathic, approachable, and be an outstanding people leader. Crucially, you will come with a commitment to and ability to role model our vision, purpose and values, and commitment to LGBTQ rights and our approach to race equity and trans inclusion. Equally, you will understand and be aware of intersections of oppression and have an understanding of power and privilege in the workplace.
