Offer description

The Derbyshire Recovery Partnership are looking to recruit a passionate and enthusiastic drug and alcohol worker in Chesterfield. This role will work with people involved in the criminal justice system, including those leaving prison or already living in the local community.

Training will be provided; prior experience is not essential. We value transferable skills and a willingness to learn about this field and help people involved with criminality.


The Role

In this role you will be trained to coordinate care and deliver individual and group psychosocial and harm‑reduction interventions to service users. You will manage a small caseload, providing high intensity and frequent support to people living in the Chesterfield and North East Derbyshire community.

* Assist with prison in‑reach at HMP Foston Hall, HMP Nottingham and HMP Ranby, assessing treatment needs and planning community‑based care for those leaving prison
* Liaise closely with the Integrated Offender Management team, Courts, Liaison and Diversion, Prison healthcare, Probation services, and other local specialist services
* Work a permanent contract of 37.5 hours per week, Monday‑Friday 9am‑5pm
* Possess a driving licence and access to a personal vehicle for outreach; travel expenses reimbursed


Qualifications

* Passion for working with people using drugs and/or alcohol who are involved in the criminal justice system
* Innovative, motivating and proactive approach
* Willingness to obtain prison vetting and work in prison environments
* Transferable skills and ability to engage individuals in a high‑intensity setting
* No prior experience required – all training will be provided
* Valid driving licence and access to personal vehicle for outreach purposes

* Starting salary of £26,298, with potential yearly increments up to £28,000 pro‑rata
