Lead Night Baker / Shift Supervisor
Crich, Derbyshire | Night shifts (approx. 8 p.m.4 a.m.) | £DOE
Were a thriving family-run artisan bakery producing sourdough, Italian, French, Rye and Yeasted bread. We have two shops, a café, wholesale partners and markets. Were seeking a hands-on Lead Baker to run the night production team.
What youll do
* Own the bake from mix to bake-off.
* Lead a small night crew (up to 4 bakers).
* Monitor quality, prove times and scaling.
* Keep the bakery spotless and food-safe, logging cleaning checks each shift.
* Flag ingredient needs and maintenance issues before they become problems.
* Liaise with the day team and Strategic Lead for new product trials and refinements.
What you bring
* Ideally 2 + years artisan bread production with at least some leadership or mentoring experience
* Sound knowledge of preferments and long fermentation.
* Calm, organised and solutions-focused.
* Able to lift 25 kg bags, work overnight, and maintain energy through the shift.
