About the Role
We are recruiting an Engineering Operative to support our client, working full time Monday to Friday. The role offers a wide range of mechanical and workshop tasks, involving hydraulic attachments, general engineering duties, and preparation of equipment for hire or sale.
After a 10‑week temp period through ourselves, the successful candidate will transfer permanently to our client.
Hours: Monday–Friday, 07:30–17:30 (flexibility required for additional hours)
Pay:
1. £15.50/hr (accrued holidays) or
2. £17.37/hr (advanced holidays)
Contract: 10 weeks temp via ourselves → Permanent transfer to client
Key Responsibilities
3. Carry out basic engineering and mechanical tasks
4. Metalworking: drilling, lathe work, grinding, band saw operation
5. Use of torque equipment
6. Disassembly and reassembly of hydraulic attachments
7. Working with hydraulic components
8. Pressure washing and cleaning of equipment
9. Basic painting and finishing
10. Basic welding tasks
11. Forklift driving (training/experience beneficial)
12. Preparing attachments for hire and sale
13. Completing service checklists and documentation
14. Following instructions, drawings, and manuals accurately
15. Maintaining attention to detail throughout all tasks
What We’re Looking For
16. Practical engineering or mechanical experience
17. Ability to use workshop tools and machinery safely
18. Strong attention to detail and accuracy
19. Flexibility to work additional hours when required
20. Ability to follow technical instructions, manuals, and drawings
21. Basic welding and forklift experience desirable
