Arborist jobs in Suffolk
The role as SHE Advisor will require the successful candidate to work closely with the Arborist, Surveyors, two Directors and Sub-contractors. The main roles and responsibilities are:
* Manage and audit the internal SHE management system in line with ISO45001
* Conduct site audits of Arborists, Surveyors and sub-contractors
* Manage the training of all staff within the business, including organising and conducting toolbox talks.
* Assist with completing LOLER inspections on climbing equipment
* Checking shutdowns and setting shutdowns up with cutters and contractors.
* Manage and track training requirements via the training Matrix ensuring staff are all qualified to complete the work
* Liaising with UKPN safety team on weekly/monthly catch up calls
* Ensure all work equipment is fit for purpose (ladders, Chainsaws, chippers and MEWPS)
* Arrange calibration for relevant equipment
* Conduct site investigations when required
* Manage client workbooks ensuring the correct amount of audits are conducted each month.
* Ensure safe working practices are adhered to (safe working round powerlines, safe use of chainsaws and related equipment)
* Assisting with operational tasks as requested (AdHoC tasks)
* Putting people to work with the correct training, leasing with Arborists and subcontractors
* Review develop H&S policies and procedures
* Review and develop Risk assessments and method statements
* Manage annual audits with – Achillies, ISO1400 & ISO9001 and Safe Contractor
* Follow reasonable instructions from senior management or directors.
* Communicate with UKPN to ensure all staff have an in date UKPN competency
* Organise and Conduct company induction for new staff
* Be the point of contact for our Third party IT service provider

Qualifications
Essential
* NEBOSH Certificate
* 201& 202 (chainsaw maintenance, cross cutting and Felling)
* 301 (Basic electrical knowledge and safe working on electrical network)
* Clean driving licence
Desirable
* NEBOSH Diploma or Level 6 NVQ in Occupational Health and Safety
* 201, 202, 203 ,204 In Chainsaw use, Climbing and Chainsaw rope & Harness
* 301,302,303,304 and 305 in Utility Arboriculture
* ISO Lead auditor
* LOLER Inspector for climbing equipment
* IPAF
Experience
* Worked extensively in Utility Arboriculture
* Experience in both commercial and domestic tree surgery
* Have worked in H&S positions of medium sized businesses
* Conducted field audits in same or similar field
* Experience managing ISO certifications for audits
* Experience in driving a positive safety culture and adapting to continual change
* Experience with Working at height regs, PUWER, LOLER, ESQCR and Electricity at work regulations.
* Have the ability to lead by example and influence others.

Premier Tree Care recently were successfully awarded a large long term contract behalf of UK Power Networks. Carrying out 11kv and LV tree maintenance and clearance work in the Ipswich and Colchester areas. Covering routine maintenance work, Live and dead works, reactive work, fault work.
Premier Tree Care also have a long term contact in place with OCS group covering the National Grid network around the Ipswich and Colchester areas.
