We are seeking an accomplished Interim Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) to lead a critical period of transformation and uplift across our security and technology risk landscape. This strategically significant leadership role is ideal for an executive who has successfully delivered complex security transformation programmes, enhanced organisational risk posture, and shaped long-term security strategy while managing multi-million-pound budgets. The Interim CISO will serve as the strategic guardian of our information assets, bridging technology and business leadership to deliver immediate stability, create sustainable improvements, and guide the organisation toward a more resilient and mature security environment. The successful candidate will hold a degree in Technology, Information Security, Risk Management, or an equivalent field, alongside professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CRISC, or ISO 27001. They will bring proven experience in strategic planning, risk-based information assurance, business impact analysis, and threat/vulnerability management, as well as deep expertise in compliance, policy design, and information security frameworks including ISO 27001, NIST, COBIT, and CIS Controls. This role requires a leader with a strong track record of transforming security organisations, structuring high-performing teams, and developing future leaders who can take ownership and drive long-term security improvements. The Interim CISO will be responsible for developing and executing a security and technology risk strategy that aligns with business objectives, providing trusted counsel to the Board and executive leadership, and articulating complex risks to influence strategic decision-making. They will oversee risk identification, assessment, and mitigation, strengthen governance, embed robust controls, and ensure transparency of risk across the organisation. They will ensure ongoing compliance with GDPR, PCI-DSS, and internal policies while establishing frameworks for sustainable regulatory adherence. In addition, the Interim CISO will lead and enhance incident response, business continuity, and crisis management processes, ensuring rapid and effective organisational response to emerging threats. They will drive cross-functional collaboration with IT, Legal, Data Protection, and third-party vendors to ensure alignment, capability uplift, and integration of security practices across the enterprise. A key focus of the role is building, mentoring, and empowering a high-performing security team, creating real leaders and embedding a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. They will also introduce forward-looking security initiatives, evaluate programme effectiveness, and adapt to evolving threat landscapes. This is an exceptional opportunity for a seasoned security executive who has delivered measurable transformation, managed substantial budgets, shaped strategic security direction, and built enduring leadership capability within complex organisational environments.
