We're recruiting for an experienced
11kV Design Engineer
to support the design and delivery of critical power distribution systems across
HMNB Clyde, one of the UK's most strategically important defence sites. This role involves designing the electrical infrastructure
post-grid connection
into the naval base, including: Substations Switchgear UPS systems Backup generators Power distribution to key buildings and facilities
Key Responsibilities
Lead and deliver
11kV-33kV electrical design
packages for defence infrastructure. Produce and review
SLDs, schematics, cable schedules, protection settings, and technical documentation. Specify and select appropriate
switchgear, breakers, and substation components. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders. Ensure compliance with
BS7671 ,
Machinery Directive, and relevant defence standards.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Proven experience in
designing power systems
for complex infrastructure (e.g.
airports, data centres, stadiums, train stations ). Strong understanding of
UPS systems ,
resilience engineering, and
critical power. Proficient in
ETAP ,
Trimble ,
Amtech, or similar design tools. Chartered or working towards
CEng/IEng
