New Opportunity - Production Manager
Are you an experienced Production Manager, looking to join a market leading, manufacturing company in Alfreton? This could be the perfect opportunity for you!
In this role, you will be a responsible for the day-to-day operations, production planning, staff supervision, and smooth running of all production activities.
This role requires previous experience and a proven track record in leadership, planning, and production management within a manufacturing, chemical or FMCG environment.
As the new Production Manager, you will:
Be responsible for the daily running of the production department. Being a role model in the production department, giving hands-on support when required.
Resolve day to day production issues quickly and efficiently and manage a production team of 10-15 staff.
Manage production schedules, making any adjustments in line with order deadlines and customer demand.
Balance workload effectively and ensure all paperwork and compliance checks are completed.
Identify areas to be improved and work to implement solutions to maximise output and minimise waste.
Introduce new systems to better production methods, reduce costs, and optimise tock control.
Ensure all Health and Safety, COSHH and PPE requirements are strictly followed.
Work with the compliance department to maintain a safe and legally compliant workplace.
Provide ongoing training and development for staff.
Inspire a positive work environment for all staff.
Work with Directors and other departments, ensuring company goals and policies are fully implemented.
Oversee dispatch and logistics.
Key Requirements as the new Production Manager:
Proven leadership experience in chemical, FMCG, or manufacturing production.
Minimum of 5 years relevant experience at management level.
Strong planning, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
Hands-on management style with the ability to step in when required.
Excellent communication and people management skills.
In-depth knowledge of Health & Safety, COSHH, and best manufacturing practices.
A proactive, solutions-driven mindset.
About this role:
Full time, permanent position.
Hours of Work: 7.45am - 5.15pm Monday-Thursday, 7.15am - 4.15pm Friday - these are minimum times and flexibilities will be required depending on the requirements of the workload
On-site free parking.
What you can expect in return:
£45,000 - £55,000 depending on experience.
Holidays: 30 days, rising to 32 days after 1 year's employment.
Sick Pay: after 1 year's employment.
Additional Pension Contribution: after 1 year's employment.
