The Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity to join our Warehouse Team in Winsford as a Warehouse Operative.
Job Purpose
This role will be responsible for acknowledging orders from suppliers and inspecting all vehicles upon arrival. Unloading vehicles and monitoring stock rotation using FIFO, ensuring continual supply of materials to production and to production stock areas. Picking orders when required and loading finished products onto vehicles. Stock taking when required for all materials and general housekeeping duties.
What You Will Contribute
* Acknowledge orders and book times from suppliers on the SAP computer system
* Unload and load vehicles, checking that received products correspond with relevant documentation; ensure haulier’s vehicles are clean and intact with no contamination or damage
* Inform warehouse manager of any damaged products or shortages
* Record all pallet receipts on supplier delivery notes and on SAP delivery check sheets
* Pick customer orders accurately, ensuring pallets are in an acceptable manner
* Monitor and adhere to stock rotation of ingredients and packaging, advising the Warehouse Supervisor or Manager of any products nearing their best before date
* Routinely merge part pallets of like materials to optimize space
* Maintain a good knowledge of all relevant quality procedures and work instructions
* Communicate with all other departments, suppliers, customers and hauliers on all aspects of the job
* Maintain a safe and hygienic working environment in the warehouse and yard, helping to maintain security and controlling visitors to the department while ensuring safety at all times
What You Will Bring
* Flexi/Bendi Truck & Pedestrian Operated Pallet Truck licences are desirable but full training will be given if required
* SAP experience desirable but not essential
* Excellent communication skills, speed and accuracy
* A flexible, friendly approach with a team focus and can‑do attitude
* Initiative, eye for detail and ability to meet tight deadlines
* Ability to accurately follow instructions
Hours of Work
Rotating 6‑Week Pattern
* Week 1: 2 pm–10 pm – Mon to Fri
* Week 2: 6 am–2 pm – Mon to Sat
* Week 3: 10 pm–6 am – Mon to Fri
* Week 4: 2 pm–10 pm – Mon to Fri
* Week 5: Flex Week – Mon to Fri (6‑2 / 2‑10 / 10‑6)
