To support our core mission and ambition to be the College of choice for physicians and related specialtiesinternationally, we are looking to recruit into the business-critical role of Director of Finance and CorporateServices. With accountability for the financial stewardship of the College, encompassing effective financialcontrol and reporting, you will have overall responsibility for the strategic development and operationalsuccess of the corporate functions of the College to ensure the consistent planning and delivery of strategicobjectives.
As part of a small senior leadership team, you will directly support the Chief Executive Officer and widerorganisation as it embarks on a period of transformational change. Embracing both operational and organisationalbest practice; the development of new and bespoke financial reports; the modernisation of existing systemsprocesses and procedures; and development of new and bespoke financial reporting, you will play a critical rolein ensuring the College remains efficient, financially sustainable and effectively positioned to meet thechanging needs of staff and members alike.
The role requires a Qualified Accountant who is a solutions-focused and forward-thinking leader with relevantexperience in directly managing and developing multidisciplinary teams that consistently deliver high standards.An accomplished communicator able to build and maintain strong working relationships with a range ofstakeholders, you will also be highly analytical with the ability to get “behind the numbers” to allowwell-informed and commercial decisions. Candidates should bring previous experience of continuous improvementand developing robust financial controls and procedures.

About the Role:

About The Job
The Director of HR and Corporate Services is at the heart of the business. Taking a lead on the HR, Risk, Legal andCompliance functions, this role is responsible for all internal operations, and also supports centralfunctions.
A strong part of our culture is local accountability and as such this role will enable others to make decisions,devolving appropriate responsibilities on areas such as HR, procurement, contract management and facilities toother parts of the organisation while taking a strategic overview.

Required Qualifications and Skills
We are looking for a candidate who can hit the ground running in this role and therefore we require candidates tohave:
* Experience of working at a senior level within an organisation;
* Knowledge and understanding of thecharity sector, preferably as an employee or a trustee
* Significant experienced of peoplemanagement;
* Preferably qualified to CIPD Level 7 (or equivalentexperience/qualification);
* Demonstrable knowledge of the legal and regulatory landscape of all aspectsof corporate services to ensure understanding and compliance, including: HR; data protection; health and safety;and charity governance;
* Excellent project management and planning skills and be able to translatestrategies into operational plans;
* Experience in coaching and developing members of a new team isdesirable.
* Ability to think strategically and creatively while demonstrating good judgement whenanalysing and responding to complex issues.
* Works well under own initiative; is an effective member of aleadership team; and a skilled collaborator across an organisation.
* Highly organised with strongattention to detail.
* Confident and effective communicator with the ability to present information to avariety of different audiences.
* Confident with a variety of IT packages including Microsoft. Ability tocreate reports and analyse data to spot trends and act on them.
