The Role
The Year 1 Teacher will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching that engages children in the early stages of Key Stage 1. You will plan lessons that inspire, challenge, and meet the needs of all pupils while fostering independence, resilience, and a love of learning.
Key responsibilities include:
* Planning and delivering lessons across the curriculum in line with the National Curriculum
* Creating a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment
* Monitoring and assessing pupil progress and using this to inform teaching
* Differentiating teaching to meet the needs of all pupils, including SEND and higher-attaining learners
* Promoting positive behaviour and supporting pupils’ personal and social development
* Working closely with teaching assistants and support staff to maximise learning outcomes
* Communicating with parents and carers to keep them informed and engaged in their child’s learning
* Contributing to whole-school initiatives, staff meetings, and professional development
This role requires a teacher who is reflective, adaptable, and committed to providing every child with an outstanding learning experience.
