Reporting to: Head of Jewellery and Head of Sales, Design Working Hours: Tuesday to Friday, from 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and Saturday, from 10:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with ad hoc evenings and weekends. Carpenters Workshop Gallery in London are looking for a detail-oriented, hard-working enthusiast Sales Assistant to support the Sales and Jewellery Team. The ideal candidate will be methodical, well-spoken, and collaborative. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a fast-paced, international gallery and be a part of the CWG London Team. While running their collectable design Gallery, Julien and Loïc had many encounters with collectors and artists who raised interest in jewellery and saw great potential in this market. They felt it was a natural next step to widen the gallery offering into jewellery whilst keeping their distinct style of blurring the boundaries between art and design. Carpenters Workshop Jewellery collaborated with and exhibits a diverse range of emerging and established artists who come from a wide range of practices as artists, designers and architects, whilst others are independent jewellers. Each piece is firstly created as a work of art, uniting art, design form and function with a mix of price points. The Sales Assistant will assist the Head of Jewellery and the Head of Design with all the commercial and marketing endeavours and oversee Carpenters Workshop Jewellery back office. About the Position: We are seeking a Sales Assistant to join our London team at Ladbroke Hall, Notting Hill. The ideal candidate will have a background in contemporary art and design, a passion for jewellery, proven experience, a track record in sales and an understanding of the artistic process. The candidate should have experience in a gallery setting or an international and dynamic professional environment and thrives in a fast-paced environment where the days are always different. This role is available immediately. Responsibilities Sales Contribute to annual sales targets & supporting the gallery’s global and regional goals. Establish and maintain positive personal relationships with all clients to produce a repeat collector of the gallery. Host clients at the London gallery and other UK or international fairs/exhibitions as required Actively attract new clients, research new client targets, and develop & execute associated strategies. Attend industry events with pre-determined targets & resulting follow-up. Manage Production and Back-Office Follow up artist relations: staying updated on projects, exhibitions/events, inventory & contracts. Develop production process: including finalising designs, final order approvals, following up on production, and invoicing. Updating Artlogic with relevant contacts & CWJ inventory. Manage Stock worldwide, update inventory management system, financials, and relevant Excel documents with necessary info. Manage after-sales services. Support strategy for all CWG Exhibitions and Fairs Proactively propose artists/artworks and exhibition themes Art Fairs: Communicating with logistics, marketing and studio teams Exhibitions/Pop-Up Events: Project management, including stock management, photography, payment, and purchasing. Support the exhibition/fair strategy implementation, including sales pipeline, installation, surrounding events, client communication, etc. Liaise with the Head of E-commerce for offer display on CWG website and 3rd party (Artsy). Active client outreach before fairs or exhibition openings to create appetite and interest. Day to Day Setting up the jewellery space within the gallery (installation, storage, cleaning of windows, preparation of deliveries, receiving goods, preparation of official documents for the pieces, inventory control, etc.). Providing information to customers/visitors at the gallery and liaising with them afterwards. Ensure the presence on social networks during events. Essential Qualifications and Skills Required: Ability to work legally in the United Kingdom Strong interest in Jewellery and Design Previous experience in Sales, Project Management, Executive Assistance Strong sales relationship skills and excellent communication etiquette in person, on the phone and via email. Knowledge of Collectible Design, Furniture, Sculpture, and Contemporary Art Excellent computer skills in MAC based Enviroment, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), ArtLogic Management System and Asana preferred. Teamwork skills, working under tight deadlines, agility and communication are essential notions. English required, additional languages including Arabic, Hindu, Chinese desired.
