We are currently recruiting for 2 x Part Time Drivers (30 hours and 20 hours per week) with previous healthcare experience to facilitate patient transport service needs of the hospital as and when required. Please note you need to have D1 licence to drive the minibus. Due to policies you need to be 21 years old or over and to have held a full UK driving licence for over 24 months. Long Eaton Day Services specialises in supporting individuals with a primary diagnosis of a learning disability, in addition to those with complex health needs, physical disabilities and those with autism.
Responsibilities
* Be responsible for ensuring the company vehicle is refuelled and checked before going out and after return, and kept clean inside and out; report any faults or damage.
* Hold a valid full UK driving licence with no more than 3 points and be able to drive an automatic vehicle.
* Extensive experience of driving in cities and motorways, both day and night.
* Ideally have some previous healthcare experience.
* Able to navigate around an area using sat nav or maps.
* Able to plan and keep to a schedule.
* Physically fit for getting in and out of vehicles and loading/unloading.
* Willing to work unsupervised.
* Good customer service skills to enable you to work in partnership with escorting clinical staff and colleagues to provide the best standard of care to our patients, especially when dealing with patients.
* Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
Requirements and Process
The successful candidate will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS and reference check. An offer of employment will be subject to successful clearance.
