The Department of Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology is now recruiting a full‑time, permanent Teaching and Learning Co‑ordinator who will support the smooth running of the undergraduate Teaching office.
Responsibilities
* Support the work of the Departments Teaching Office, coordinating all key areas of undergraduate student administration including course teaching on our Tripos, events, examinations, maintaining course‑related Moodle sites and dealing with general enquiries.
* Act as Secretary to a number of committees, ensuring the interface between Department and University committees and administrators.
* Collaborate closely with the Head of Department and Deputy Head of Teaching.
* Work with a proactive and flexible approach, demonstrating empathy when supporting student delivery.
* Perform limited evening / weekend / bank holiday (May) work during examination periods and at other busy times, such as the start of the academic year.
Qualifications
* Educated to degree level or equivalent level of practical experience.
* Competent with standard software packages (Word, Excel, Outlook) and with databases and online programmes.
* Excellent communication, organisational and planning skills.
* Ability to be a team player, showing empathy when supporting student delivery.
* Experience of working within higher education in a related area, or previous experience within the University of Cambridge would be an advantage.
* Once an offer of employment has been accepted, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a health assessment.
Hours
The role will involve limited evening / weekend / bank holiday (May) work during the examination periods and at other busy times, such as the start of the academic year.
