We are recruiting Independent Panel Members for our London & East Office based in Romford. You will be required to prepare for and be present on the Panel meeting. Successful candidates will be responsible, in collaboration with the other Panel members, for making recommendations about applicants’ suitability to foster and the continued approval of existing foster carers. You will demonstrate the skills of drawing upon you own personal and professional knowledge and experience. You must uphold our policies and procedures to ensure equality, inclusion and anti-discriminatory practice. The suitable candidates must be able to work as a team member to achieve the best outcomes for the children, prioritising their individual needs and safety. Experience of working with children/young people would be an advantage but optional, representation from other sectors such as health and Police is advantageous. No formal social work qualifications are necessary, but understanding and empathy for the work required are essential. The ideal candidate would be an individual who has experienced being a care leaver themselves.
