Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities:
OVERVIEW
* Perform reactive and planned maintenance, including repairs to woodwork, metalwork, decorating, flooring, and other building fabric work.
* Utilize skills and qualifications in trades like Plumbing or Electrical as directed by supervisors.
* Attend in-house training and inductions.
* Work flexibly in a team and assist other departments as needed.
Other duties:
* Maintain facilities and equipment.
* Operate planned preventative maintenance schemes on doors, locks, fire doors, emergency lights, and water systems.
* Inspect ladders, steps, and access equipment.
* Suggest improvements to facilities.
* Liaise with managers, contractors, and agencies for events and security improvements.
* Follow health and safety practices.
* Report incidents or issues for informed decision-making.
* Work a 40-hour, 4-on 4-off shift pattern, including weekends.
* Operate woodworking machinery safely.
* Conduct pre- and post-event checks.
* Perform additional reasonable duties.
Qualifications
Person Specification:
Qualification:
* Skills and knowledge in general maintenance trades.
* City & Guilds qualification or equivalent preferred.
Skills & Abilities:
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Full driving license required.
* Flexible, able to meet deadlines.
* Work at height; IPAF license advantageous.
* Strong communication skills.
* Proficiency in work administration and maintenance software.
* Professional interaction with tenants, customers, and colleagues.
* General building skills including plumbing, electrical, tiling, painting, fabrication, drainage, and legionella compliance are desirable.
Experience:
* At least 2 years in large commercial or stadium environments.
Knowledge:
* Good maintenance practices and safety standards.
* Understanding of Building Regulations.
* Willingness to train and adapt.
* Commitment to Health & Safety laws.
