Quality Engineer – Plastic Fabrication Manufacturer
Location: Middlesbrough
Salary: £35,000 – £40,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
Hours: 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday)
Holidays: 23 days annual leave + 8 bank holidays
Key Responsibilities
* Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance processes to ensure compliance with customer and regulatory requirements
* Conduct inspections and testing of plastic fabricated products to ensure they meet specifications
* Lead root cause analysis and drive corrective/preventive action initiatives
* Support continuous improvement activities to enhance product quality and reduce waste
* Manage documentation related to quality standards, audits, and certifications
* Liaise with production, engineering, and customer service teams to resolve quality issues
* Assist in preparing for and conducting internal and external audits
Requirements
* Proven experience in a Quality Engineer role, ideally within plastic fabrication, manufacturing, or a related industry
* Strong knowledge of quality systems, standards, and methodologies (e.g., ISO 9001, lean manufacturing principles)
* Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
* Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across departments
* Attention to detail and a proactive approach to quality management
* 40-hour working week (Monday to Friday)
