Job Introduction

We have an exciting opportunity for an Accounts Assistant within our Toyota Dealership in Cheltenham. The hours of work are 8:30am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.

This role would ideally suit someone currently working or who has worked in a finance department and is now looking to utilise their skills across all areas of the accounting function. Previous experience may include credit control, purchase ledger, bookkeeping, or similar areas.


Role And Responsibilities

* Manage daily banking activities.
* Handle sales ledger tasks, post bank transactions, perform credit control, and follow up on debtor queries with departmental managers and customers.
* Manage purchase ledger activities, including coding and inputting invoices and credit notes, reconciling supplier statements, processing payment runs, and resolving supplier queries.
* Post bank, intercompany, and other nominal ledger journals.
* Manage petty cash.
* Assist an Accountant in closing the month and resolving related queries.


About You

* Excellent numeracy skills and attention to detail.
* Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).
* A minimum of one year's experience in a similar role.
* Ability to work under pressure while maintaining accuracy.
* Confidence in handling queries face-to-face, over the phone, and via email.
* Capability to prioritise workload effectively.
* Previous use of ADP is advantageous but not essential; full training will be provided.
* Experience in motor trade, automotive, or car dealership sectors is preferred but not essential; full training will be provided.
