Accounts Manager

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Accounts Manager to join a busy and dynamic finance team based in Cambridge. This full-time, fixed-term role provides secondment cover and offers the chance to work within a complex and fast-paced professional environment.
The Role
The postholder will play a key role in supporting financial operations, ensuring accurate processing, reporting, and compliance across a range of accounts functions. Working closely with operational and academic colleagues, you will provide clear financial guidance and support to non-finance stakeholders.
Essential Requirements
* Formal qualification to Bachelor’s degree level or AAT Level 4 (or equivalent)
* Demonstrable experience working in a busy accounts environment
* Experience managing or supporting general ledger and financial processes
* Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office packages
* Ability to prioritise workload effectively and meet strict deadlines
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain financial information clearly to non-finance colleagues
Desirable Experience
* Previous line management experience
* Experience within higher education, public sector, or non-profit organisations
* Experience with research grants, budgeting, or finance systems such as CUFS (or similar)
