No one should die because they needed first aid and didn’t get it. St John Ambulance teaches people first aid so they can be the difference between life and death, and you can help us do this.
TheDistrict New Volunteers’ Officer'srole is to support the co-ordination of the attraction, recruitment, and induction of frontline volunteers across the District on behalf of the District Manager. This involves promoting volunteering opportunities, coordinating the selection of applicants, their induction to SJA and their training for role in direct partnership with HR, training, line managers and other internal stakeholders to recruit and retain new volunteers.
This role is part of the roll out of one-way of recruiting frontline volunteers across SJA in England.
Part of the role is leading on recruitment of new volunteers in the district; therefore you would be required to attend and organise our selection events across the District. This means you would need to be available for a number of weekends/evenings per year.
Selection interviews can take place either in-person or on Teams.
Volunteers new to St John Ambulance will be offered a general organisational induction package including face-to-face group induction plus online learning. Role-specific training will be offered on a 1:1 or small group basis with members of the District Leadership Team.
