Job Title: Payroll and Finance Officer
A new and exciting position has arisen for an experienced Payroll and Finance Officer to join an existing team of 3. Responsibilities include:
1. Carrying out end-to-end payroll processing for 170 staff, including salary and timesheets, in compliance with current HMRC legislation.
2. Processing overtime and making necessary adjustments.
3. Liaising with HR regarding contract details, verifying new starters and leavers, and responding to payroll queries from staff.
4. Assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts, including variance analysis, supporting budget monitoring and forecasting.
5. Performing month-end routines and managing trial balances, including journal entries for accruals and prepayments.
6. Overseeing sales and purchase ledgers, including monitoring aged debtors.
7. Deputising for the Head of Finance and Payroll in their absence.
To be successful, candidates should have relevant experience and possess an accounting qualification such as a degree or AAT. There is potential for future study support following a successful probation period. A strong understanding of payroll legislation and proficiency in financial software and Excel are essential.
The role will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.
