We are currently looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to fill a part‑time Band 2 Phlebotomy post at Bronglais General Hospital, Aberystwyth.
This position comprises 30 hours per week, working Tuesday to Friday from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. Flexibility may be required around these hours, and there is an additional requirement to cover Saturday, Sunday, and Bank Holiday rota shifts, which are paid separately.
Job Responsibilities
* Collect blood samples by venepuncture from wards and the Phlebotomy Outpatient Department.
* Assist in specimen reception and laboratory duties as required.
* Participate in training and adhere to in‑house training programmes.
* Maintain flexibility to the needs of the service.
Qualifications & Knowledge
* Basic numeracy and language skills.
* Phlebotomy training certificate.
* Transfusion pre‑sampling certificate.
* NVQ Level 2 or equivalent.
Language Skills
* Welsh speaker level 1 (desirable); English required.
Experience
* Previous phlebotomy experience.
* Experience of working in a clinical environment.
