Import and Export Coordinator (Customs Documentation)
Location: Newcastle upon Tyne (Hybrid – 3 days office / 2 days remote)

We’re working with a leading international engineering and technology business to recruit an Import and Export Coordinator.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established organisation operating across the maritime and offshore sectors. The role plays a vital part in ensuring the smooth and compliant movement of goods across the UK, EU, and global markets.
Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and process accurate shipping and customs documentation
*
Support correct customs procedures and classification (e.g. HS codes, rules of origin)
*
Submit export licence applications and maintain compliance records
*
Liaise with logistics teams to resolve customs or export control issues during shipments
*
Generate customs clearance instructions for international movements
*
Conduct due diligence and screening to support business development
*
Maintain trade compliance and sanctions databases
*
Assist in developing export control processes and wider compliance programmes
What We’re Looking For:
*
Knowledge of UK customs tariffs, documentation, and procedures
*
Familiarity with UK, EU, or US export controls and licensing
*
Experience working with customs clearance, shipping paperwork, or trade compliance systems ideally within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
*
Understanding of the post-Brexit international trade environment
*
Strong attention to detail and ability to communicate across departments
