We are seeking a compassionate, experienced, and highly motivated SEN Teacher to join a supportive and inclusive primary school in Tooting, starting as soon as possible. As an SEN Teacher, you will plan and deliver tailored lessons and interventions designed to meet pupils’ individual needs. You will work closely with teaching assistants, the SENCo, parents, and external professionals to ensure pupils receive consistent and effective support. You will play a vital role in helping pupils develop confidence, independence, and positive learning behaviours.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality lessons for pupils with SEN
* Create and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and personalised targets
* Provide differentiated teaching to meet a wide range of learning needs
* Deliver one-to-one and small-group interventions
* Promote independence, resilience, and positive behaviour
* Maintain a structured, safe, and inclusive learning environment
* Track pupil progress and maintain accurate assessment records
* Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, SENCo, and senior leaders
* Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and external professionals
* Contribute to staff meetings, CPD sessions, and whole-school initiatives
* Ensure safeguarding and child protection procedures are followed at all times
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will:
* Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
* Have experience teaching pupils with SEND in a primary or specialist setting
* Be patient, empathetic, and adaptable
* Demonstrate strong classroom management and organisational skills
* Be reflective, proactive, and solution-focused
* Show a strong commitment to inclusion, safeguarding, and pupil wellbeing
* Work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
