Operations span 3 dedicated Foodservice production sites in Runcorn UK, Hastings UK and Dalby Sweden, with additional sites in Hull UK and Karlshamn Sweden. Our portfolio covers frying oils, speciality oils, butter alternatives, savoury and sweet sauces, dressings, mayonnaise, hot dogs, and bakery ingredients, supplying market‑leading brands and private label partners. AAK Foodservice works closely with customers to meet new trends, renew menus, optimise categories, develop healthier options, cut waste, save costs and increase sustainability.
About the Role
AAK is seeking a Commercial Product Manager within our Foodservice business, reporting directly to the Global Marketing Director Foodservice. The role shapes and delivers key strategic and operational product‑management initiatives across the European Foodservice organisation. You will drive the development, performance and profitability of a commercially competitive product portfolio, combining commercial acumen with technical product knowledge.
Responsibilities
* Develop and execute a comprehensive product‑management and portfolio strategy with a roadmap aligned to company and Foodservice objectives.
* Identify new business opportunities through market insights, trend analysis and portfolio mix optimisation.
* Analyse, challenge and report the commercial performance of the Foodservice industry.
* Manage and continuously refine the product portfolio review, delivering annual Foodservice industry and site portfolio reviews to identify optimisation opportunities.
* Monitor and guide product pricing and margin strategies to meet profitability targets.
* Own commercial product‑management responsibilities for the private label portfolio, acting as gatekeeper for product lifecycle management, new‑product introductions and discontinuations.
* Develop, evaluate and refine value propositions for AAK Foodservice products and collaborate with Brand Management to deliver brand propositions.
* Execute go‑to‑market activities for product solutions, providing training content, product collateral and best‑in‑class tools across multiple communication channels.
* Drive the Foodservice sustainability strategy with portfolio insights and enriched product and component master data.
* Own, manage and enhance product and component master data and improve business processes through PLM and analytics tools.
* Optimise wholesaler customer/product intelligence platforms to empower account, insights and brand management teams.
About You
* 5+ years’ experience in product or commercial product management, with 7–10 years in the food industry.
* Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, able to translate data into actionable insights, initiatives and strategies.
* Commercial mindset, decision‑making skills and attention to detail to drive business strategy and profitability.
* Outstanding communication, stakeholder‑management and interpersonal skills for effective cross‑functional collaboration.
* Excellent project‑management skills with the ability to manage multiple cross‑functional projects simultaneously.
* Expertise in product excellence, product‑management processes and working ways.
* Passion for Making Better Happen™, with a collaborative, agile, and accountable approach to business growth.
* Proficiency with market‑research tools, data analysis and digital‑marketing platforms is a plus.
* Experience in FMCG or food and beverage production, B2B / B2C or both, is desirable.
* Degree‑level education in Business Management, Product Management, Marketing, Food Science or equivalent.
