*Job Title: Telecare Advisor (Technical and Engineering support – Telecare Installations)*
*Reports to: Technical Manager*

*Location: Community-based across service areas (travel required)*

*Purpose of the Role: *To deliver high-quality assessment, installation, maintenance, and collection of telecare and assistive technology equipment in service users’ home environments. This role plays a vital part in enabling vulnerable individuals to live independently and safely. A caring, person-centred approach is essential, as the service provided is often life changing.

*Key Responsibilities:*
* Conduct person-centred assessments to identify appropriate telecare solutions.
* Design and install bespoke telecare packages tailored to individual needs.
* Install, test, maintain, and collect telecare and assistive technology equipment in line with service protocols and safety standards.
* Provide clear, compassionate training and guidance to service users and/or carers on equipment use.
* Complete accurate records of installations, assessments, and service visits using REDi or other systems.
* Respond to urgent service requests and support rapid mobilisation efforts when required.
* Maintain and manage van stock, tools, and equipment, ensuring all are in good working order.
* Liaise with internal teams and external partners to ensure seamless service delivery.
* Identify and escalate safeguarding concerns in line with policy.
* Promote the organisation’s values and maintain professional conduct at all times.
*Daily Responsibilities:*
* Travel to scheduled appointments across the service area.
* Follow planned schedules and only deviate with management approval.
* Communicate with clients and the office to provide updates and ensure smooth workflow.
* Ensure tools, tablets, lone worker devices, and mobile phones are charged, secure, and functional.
* Maintain a clean, presentable van and professional appearance, including valid ID and uniform.
*Weekly Responsibilities:*
* Conduct full van maintenance checks.
* Attend scheduled stock replenishment sessions.
*Monthly Responsibilities: *
* Complete van stock audits and report discrepancies.
*Other responsibilities:*
* Support the wider telecare team during peak periods or special projects.
* Notify management of any changes to your driving licence or equipment issues.
* Undertake any other duties as required by management.
*Required Qualifications and Experience:*
* Experience in installing telecare or similar assistive technology.
* Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
* Understanding of safeguarding procedures and lone working practices.
* Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
* Full UK driving license and willingness to travel.
*Desirable:*
* Formal qualification in electrical or electronic engineering.
* Experience in health or social care environments.
* Knowledge of GDPR and data protection compliance.

*Essential Criteria*
*To be successful in this role, candidates must demonstrate:*
* Proven experience in installing telecare or similar assistive technology equipment.
* A strong understanding of safeguarding principles and procedures, with the ability to identify and escalate concerns appropriately.
* The ability to work independently in the homes of vulnerable individuals, often as a lone worker.
* Technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, particularly in relation to electronic or assistive technology.
* Clear and confident communication skills, with the ability to explain equipment use to service users in a patient and supportive manner.
* A commitment to maintaining confidentiality and upholding professional boundaries at all times.
* A full UK driving licence and a willingness to travel across the service area.
*Desirable Criteria*
*While not essential, the following would be advantageous:*
* A formal qualification in electrical or electronic engineering.
* Previous experience working in health or social care settings, particularly with vulnerable adults.
* Knowledge of GDPR and data protection compliance in relation to service user information.
* Experience in customer service or community-based roles where empathy and communication were key.
