Humanities Teacher
Location: Cheltenham and surrounding areas
Salary: £120 - £300 per day, depending on experience and the role | Weekly PAYE Pay

Connex Education is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Humanities Teachers to work in secondary schools across Cheltenham and the surrounding areas from September 2026. We have a range of flexible long-term, short-term, and day-to-day opportunities available to suit your lifestyle and career goals.
Whether you're a qualified teacher, an Early Career Teacher (ECT), a trainee teacher nearing completion of your training, or a graduate with a degree in a Humanities subject and relevant classroom experience, we'd love to hear from you.
Teaching subjects such as History, Geography, Religious Education, or other Humanities disciplines, you'll help students develop curiosity, critical thinking, and a deeper understanding of the world while making a lasting impact in the classroom.
Key Responsibilities
• Plan and deliver engaging Humanities lessons across KS3 and KS4.
• Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment where all students can succeed.
• Inspire students through engaging and interactive lessons that develop historical, geographical, and critical thinking skills.
• Assess, monitor, and provide constructive feedback to support student progress.
• Encourage students to develop analytical, research, and communication skills across the Humanities curriculum.
• Maintain high standards of behaviour and follow school safeguarding procedures.

Person Specification
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is preferred, but we also welcome applications from:
o Unqualified teachers with strong secondary Humanities teaching experience.
o Trainee teachers due to achieve QTS.
o Graduates with a degree in a Humanities-related subject (such as History, Geography, Religious Education, Politics, Sociology, or Archaeology) who have relevant classroom or teaching experience and are looking to begin their teaching career.

• Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
